I used to work for a big corporation (who will stay unnamed) and while there learned the incredibly high value of getting logistics right.

The company I was working for invested literally billions of dollars in a reform of their logistics to save costs. Hear that? Spent billions of dollars and they had calculated they were going to receive a return from it.

Supply chain management is a make-or-break aspect of many businesses and one that I think a lot skimp on. International Business Systems, or IBS, is a Swedish based corporation that serves clients in over 40 countries and caters to the entire supply chain.

Founded in 1978, they now cater to well-known business clients such as Miele, Volvo, Cartier and Maxell.

What exactly does IBS do?

Great question!

They cover the entire supply chain - sales, customer relationships, procurement, manufacturing, distribution.

I think their site, while good, slightly belies the enormous size that this company has, operating offices in 22 countries and with over 5,000 customers.

IBS is a world leader in the business of creating Supply Chain Management Software for distribution and manufacturing companies. IBS has created a set of extremely powerful software that can deal with data from a multiplicity of sources and programs.

This greatly improves the communication of data amongst company communications systems and enables people to have instant access to the information that they need in order to make importannt decisions.

Logistical costs, while an overhead, should receive a lot of focus because it can be brought down a lot. It’s a very easy thing to comprehensively stuff up, if one didn’t go about it the right way and use the best tools available to them at the time.

In a cut throat world, their Supply Chain Management Software will give a competitive edge and help eliminate efficiencies and bottlenecks, for an organisation to achieve its goals.

Their website has a lot of information and also makes it easy to contact them for enquiries.

I have a policy of always respecting policemen when I’m dealing with them. They go through a lot and really bear a large burden in order to serve the community.

But many times when I’m dealing with them, I wish I didn’t have to! In those cases it’s hard to maintain that same level of respect.

For example, I was hanging out with my brother and his girlfriend as we were driving to a friend’s place. She was doing the driving and we’d just pulled out onto a freeway. I was looking at the speedometer and was thinking “why is she going 10mph below the speed limit!”

A car flew past us and I was just about to tell her to step on the gas a little when a police car pulled us over. His radar said we were doing 20mph over the limit. She was a little stunned but I couldn’t stop myself, I said “Officer we were absolutely below the speed limit. Didn’t you see the car that just overtook us? Your radar gun probably picked him up!”

He said.. “there was another car?”

My thought was, was this guy even WATCHING while his radar gun was having a merry day??

He ended up letting us off but imagine if he hadn’t? How annoyed would I have been? How much would my disrespect carried over into other areas of dealings with them?

Some people in the community call the police “the pigs.” I think this is over the top personally.

I’ve built quite a few websites in my time - in fact, I paused making a website to write this post - and if you’re building from scratch you’ll find that it is very hard to do. In fact, there’s a very long learning curve.

Another choice is that you pay a ton of money to someone who has done the learning curve and come off $10,000 lighter.

However, for bit-timers like me who can’t afford to take risks to the tune of $10k, there’s services like eBiz Web Pages, a company that enables you to have a good website up and running in no time at all.

They have two main products, both with a no-risk trial.

The Website Builder Plan is for those who do not want to sell online and take payments but want to maintain a presence. Maybe a place where you can be contacted? Your location? Most websites fit this mould and luckily they are very easy to do.

The price of the plan is a low $19.99/month which includes the online website builder, monthly hosting, unlimited web page updates, tons of free templates, statistics, submission to Google and also email accounts.

The Webstore Plan is more expensive at $49.95 a month but will be good for those wanting to sell a range of products or services online. When building a website, possibly the hardest and most complicated aspect is taking orders and payments online, security and other considerations like this.

That’s why it’s worth it for the novice to go with a service that has it all covered like e Biz Web Pages.

The Webstore Plan has the same features as the Website Builder Plan but with the necessary shopping cart software, order management and also can provide access to an online payment gateway a small additional cost.

The No Risk Trial is a great offer because really, what do you have to lose? E Biz Web Pages makes things as easy as 1, 2 , 3.

I’d like to hear the readers opinions on this.

Do you think it’s morally wrong to speed? I know it’s legally wrong but is that the same thing? Is it only morally wrong when you are driving in a dangerous manner - or is speeding in your eyes automatically considered drivign in a dangerous manner?

I’m talking about this because I have a certain tactic when driving.

I’ll tell you what happened yesterday as an example.

I generally drive the speed limit. As I was driving to work at 65mph someone overtook me at a pretty high speed. Whenever someone does this I pretty much instantly jump in behind them, about 100 yards behind.

The guy was driving at 80-85mph. Whenever someone overtakes me at speed I generally follow them because they’ll get flashed by a speed camera and I will slow down in time, or the police car sitting there waiting to catch someone catches them and not me.

There’s been three occasions in the past year where I’ve followed someone speeding and they were caught by the cops!

I think it’s a pretty cunning kind of tactic but maybe a little morally dubious? What do you think?

I’m guilty.

I’m guilty of something that I’m sure many people are - taking my own good health for granted.

For those eligible for Medicare Advantage, there’s no excuse to put it off with websites around the place like The Insurance Store.

The idea of The Insurance Store is to help you choose from a range of Medicare Avantage plans to help you find the right one.

They have one of those websites are just perfect. It doesn’t blow you away in terms of its beauty but in terms of simplicty, ease of use and basic elegance I would give it 10/10. This website has definitely been designed by a pro.

If you don’t understand the idea of Medicare Advantage or don’t know if you’re eligible, just go check out their website and find out! You never go wrong arming yourself with good information.

While the attention of the world is currently on Burma, a nation that has received its fair share of attention over the past year or so, to many people it seems like the media were a little slow on the ground.

I’m not sure if this is a 100% fair assessment. When a massive disaster hits, it also tends to knock out all forms of communications infrastructure, at least temporarily.

I remember when the tsunami hit, it took ages for proper coverage of Banda Aceh to begin!

Another reason, and one that Burma shares with Banda Aceh, are the heavy media restrictions on the area. Because of the rioting in Burma a few months previously, many media outlets were either banned or heavily restricted in their movements which has made reporting difficult. Compounding the problem has been the fact that the government early on in the piece seemed to conspire in obfuscating the true extent of the damage caused. Even now they don’t seem to have genuinely woken up to the problem on their hands.

I don’t wear contact lenses but a couple of members of my family do so I have taken an interest over the years in their processes of buying them and trying to wear them.

One thing I have noticed is that quality matters. What matters more than your eyes? But another thing I have learned is that prices seem to differ a lot depending on where you go.

1800-GET-LENS sells acuvue oasys lenses $4 below retail prices per box. Not only this, they have a lowest price guarantee. There’s also a $60 rebate if you buy 8 boxes which means it works out to $16.49 per box - an incredible deal when you consider that the normal retail price is $29.95 per box.

My sister uses Acuvue and I know she rates them, so you might as well check them out if you are a lens wearer.

Unless you’ve been living in a whole lately, you will have heard of the terrible tragedy that has occurred in Burma lately.

The most recent estimates guess that up to 100,000 people have died and while these figure seems a little high, it’s definitely in the tens of thousands with hundreds of thousands of people without a roof over their head or food in their stomachs.

It’s these sorts of situations which really test out the compassion and the ability of the rest of the world to respond to grave crises, even if the government of Burma really, really sucks.

The Red Cross are already on the ground delivering aid in terms of shelter and clean water. No doubt their limits will be thoroughly tested by a disaster of the magnitude witnessed in the past few days. Take the time out to donate today.

If you’re into Auto News & Reviews and Financial News & Reviews then well, I might have two great sites for you.

Finance and Cars are two very popular subjects in the real world and on the internet. Financial news is good to keep a track of so you can better your wealth position. Car articles are interesting because we all drive them. It’s good to hear news related to upcoming technology, new models being released, because we love looking towards the future.

VehicleAddict.com and FinancialAddict.com are two sister sites that share the same idea in their respective topic. While both are very fresh, their content is quite good and may well be a keeper for the future.

Not only this, but you can even get published yourself! You are able to apply to become an author with either website and you can see that a few people have taken up the offer already.

I am of course, referring to the Democrats Primaries.

Hillary Clinton wants to be President which is nice for her, the American people don’t which is nice for them. It’s already been established so far that Obama, Clinton and McCain all have extraordinarily bad economic policy which is going to hurt this great country even further.

It seems like bad government is all the vogue nowadays. But for the accidental miracle of a Congress that’s very hard to push laws through, we’d be in much more trouble than we are today, that’s for sure.

Obama seems to be moving on. He’s basically sewn up the nomination in all but deed and well as he should be, is starting to turn his thoughts towards the Presidential campaign in November.

Personally, I think McCain will win. Obama has too many weak points.

Who would have thought a Republican would be elected again? Obviously we have to wait and see, but it’s looking like McCain to me.
